Rates for indexing services are based on difficulty and complexity of material (e.g. academic or trade book), amount of illustrative material, number of notes needing indexing, and turnaround time. One manuscript page equals 250 words.

• Book rates range from $3.00 to $7.00 per page.
• Periodical indexing starts at $35.00 per hour or a per article/issue rate can be established depending on the project.
• Creating indexing guidelines and specifications starts at $40.00 per hour.
• Database indexing per hour or record.

Final Proofreading

Rates are based on complexity of material (e.g. academic or trade book), number of illustrations and citations, and turnaround time.

• $25.00-$35.00 per hour.
