Factors Affecting Web Site Indexes

  • Size of site or portion to be indexed
  • If anchors are already included in the coding
  • Indexing depth (linking to top of pages vs. anchors)

Good Candidates for an A-Z Web Site Index

  • Contain at least 25-30 pages
  • Repeat users
  • Static content or portions
